In the previous blog, we saw how our brain creates a new problem before the earlier one gets resolved. Most of the times, our mind is creating problems; those problems are only our delusion. In reality, there are very few problems in existence, but our mind creates new problems by thinking about the future and the past. Can we understand this mechanism of mind that creates problems? Can we change this wonderful capacity of the mind of creating endless problems? Can we control this system?

Definitely, we can. For this, we have to observe the mental system where these problems are formed. By being aware, we have to see how our mind is creating problems. Only with this awareness, we can understand the working of this mechanism. We will start getting glimpses of how our mind is creating unnecessary problems, and we are getting entangled into it.
For example, many times, our mind fills with anxiety and fear concerning the future. We start worrying about the things that have not happened yet or don't have the possibility of happening. These feelings get so much dominant that we start feeling incompetent at doing anything. It seems that life is going to end now. Because of this worry and fear, we cannot do what we are able to; we also get stuck and start crumbling down.
Can we be a witness of this anxiety and fear? If we witness it in the real sense, then this witnessing will itself reveal us that this process of creating of anxiety & fear is full of foolishness. And as soon as you realize that whatever you are doing inside you is foolish, it will be dropped automatically. You do not have to tell your mind to stop worrying or getting afraid; these feeling will disappear on their own. I repeat, they will disappear.
Some of us might say that they have observed their despair, fear, worry, but nothing has changed. So here there are two possibilities.
01. With witnessing, the whole mechanism of problem creation would be dropped & problems would vanish.
02. If problems are not getting dissolved then it also means that you have not witnessed, instead, whatever you have done, you are calling it as witnessing.
Only one of these two will be correct.
Now let's think a little about witnessing. There is a rose in front of you, and you are observing it. If you are getting anything in your mind like a memory from the past, a fantasy of future, good, bad or any such label, then you are not observing the rose. You are looking at it with some preconceived notion; then you are not witnessing. You are imposing some idea on that rose.
If you have observed the mental mechanism, and the fear, worry, anxiety developed from that psychological mechanism, then we cannot call it as an observation. Because you have seen it with a perspective and the perspective by which you have seen it, you have seen that point of view or perspective only. It is not an observation. If you are observing a rose without any perspective, any labelling, any partiality then something different will happen inside you.
So now the question arises, can we see this mental system without any perspective? If yes, then the miracle will happen here. You will be able to see that system, thoughts, problems, as it is. As soon as you start looking at the things happening inside you, as it is, then the whole mental system is lost. Because now you don't have any perspective, any point of view, any structured thought process; you are just observing. When you are JUST watching that time, the things which are coming are going away. The things which are happening inside our mind are staying there, because we are interpreting them with some perspective, labels, judgment or prejudices.
As soon as we start 'witnessing', we start getting rid of that mental mechanism which creates the problems. Here, rather than working in pieces, we are working on the entire mechanism, and the system starts shattering. As soon as we start looking inside us without any perspective, we start seeing how we were creating unnecessary problems. We are entangling ourselves into it and breaking ourselves. We start seeing our foolishness, and as soon as we see our stupidity, it vanishes. For this, no training is required.
But then only telling this will suffice? No. You have to be aware, alert & conscious. Dig deep inside. Understand the mechanism, which is creating problems daily. And remember when you see the foolishness, it will vanish. If it's not disappearing, then it only means that you are not witnessing.
Now rather than directly witnessing 'the mental mechanism which is responsible for creating problems,' we can do some Practicals on how to be aware, alert & conscious. In your daily life you meet several people; eat food, look at different things, etc. Now we will look at it without any perspective, prejudice, label or any judgment. We will only witness and will be in the present.
